What is your approach at the photo shoot? Our approach to each session is simple; to laugh and have fun while capturing precious memories. We want you to be as relaxed as possible in front of the camera. We want you to play with your baby, sing songs with your toddler, laugh with your children, kiss your spouse, throw rocks into the sea, and just be you! Often the best shots are not posed, but rather candid moments. How to arrange a photo shoot? Send us an email or just call 97704555. When to photograph my newborn? It’s best to photograph newborns within the first 10 days. They are still nice and curled up so it’s easier to get them into those sweet little poses. When they reach around two weeks, they don’t sleep quite as much and it is more difficult to get into the newborn poses. We work around their schedules and we do not rush, therefore, I allow around two hours for this session. What to wear? Wear what you are comfortable in. Keep it simple. Solid colors work best. Try to avoid large logos/ graphics and busy patterns like big stripes and strong cluttered patterns. If patterns are necessary, make sure the print is small. It’s okay to co-ordinate but not match. For a family session, try to stay away from "matchy - matchy" outfits where everyone is wearing the exact same thing. We all don't wear the same exact thing in real life, so why would we in a picture? Instead, wear complimentary outfits and coordinating colors. If you need help, Kyriacos will be happy to assist you plan your outfits for the type of feel you'd like for your portraits. See more here. Can I have props for my portrait session? Absolutely! Hats, sunglasses, sports equipment, books, child’s favorite toys, musical instruments, anything that has sentimental meaning. If your child has an emotional attachment to a teddy bear or a blanket, bring those to the session. If music is a huge part of your family, have ready your guitar or violin, etc. Your session is uniquely tailored to you! Where will our photo shoot take place? Baby sessions take place at you home as it’s important to make you and/ or the baby feel safe and comfortable. Kyriacos aim is to give the photos a “smell” of the baby’s home and surroundings. For non-baby sessions, your home or an outdoor location work equally well. It’s up to you to select. Other than your home or the local park, there are plenty of locations that would make a great backdrop for your family’s portraits – the old town, a friend’s farm, even an old back yard or graffitied building! Often, the best family photographs come from rather unconventional locations. Since every child and family is unique, Kyriacos would be happy to help you choose a location that suits your family’s personality. The early morning and late afternoon light works best for photographs taken outdoors. How long will the photo shoot take? It will take anywhere from 1 – 2 hours. Our goal is to make it relaxing and lots of fun. When is the best time for outdoor photographs? Usually early morning or 1 – 2 hours before sunset is when lighting works the best but we will work with anytime available. |
